Alain Bédard was born in Quebec on October 4, 1958.
He is a professional member of Le regroupement des artistes en arts visuels du Québec (RAAV).
In 1976, he enrolled in the Collège de Sainte-Foy in Quebec where he studied graphic design techniques for three years.
In the fall of 1979, he went to study in New York to hone his illustration techniques.
From 1980 to 1984, he studied graphic communications at Laval University in Quebec.
He had the privilege to have Mr. Claude A. Simard as a professor of illustration and graphic design.
At the end of these three years of university, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in graphic design.
In 1984, he worked for a year for several large advertising companies in Quebec as a graphic designer and illustrator.
He started his own graphic design firm in 1985 and was involved in many advertising campaigns in Quebec until 1992.
Since 1992, he has devoted himself primarily to painting and the promotion of art. He is the owner and founder of Les Cartes Pôle Nord, which specializes in the creation, distribution and sale of greeting cards made by Canadian artists.
In 2012 and for more than a year, he was fortunate to be mentored by his friend Claude A. Simard, who has been a leading Canadian painter for the past 35 years.
Forever animated by the need to express his emotions and discoveries in colour, figurative art became a way of life and a means of communication for him.
Now found in many major Canadian art galleries, Alain Bédard is known for his bright, colourful, and lively paintings.
His works are part of several large private Canadian, American and European collections.
